Information on Data and Personal Information Retention

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

We must notify you that we intend to retain information you provide to us to use for a variety of reasons. We are required by law to inform you of what we will retain, why we retain the information and when and how we will destroy that information.

 

Your personal details

We may need your personal details such as your name and telephone number or email address so that we can telephone or email you if you contact us through our website.  There is a separate privacy notice in respect of cases that we agree to open as a full file.

We do not release your details to any third party organisation unless the law or our professional body requires us to do so. We do not sell your details or provide your details to any marketing companies or alike. We take the duty of confidentiality very seriously.

 

Right to Access of personal information we hold about you

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. If you wish to do this please contact Marie Quinn as indicated below.

 

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the way we have processed your personal information please feel free to complain directly to us. We will then deal with the matter under our complaints procedure. If at the end of this process you are still unhappy you can complain directly to the Legal Ombudsman, PO Box 6167, Slough SL1 0EH their website being  http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/consumer/index.html

 

Storage/retention of your personal information

We are required to keep all information about dealings with clients for a period of 7 years in line with our insurance requirements. After a period of 7 years from the date of contact, we will destroy your information, this will be the record of any telephone or email conversations that we have with you.

 

Destruction of Personal Information

Your confidential information will be destroyed in line with our internal policies. Please be assured that all confidential information is shredded and not placed into a bin.

 

Withdrawal of Consent

You have the right to withdraw consent. To withdraw consent we request that you put your request in writing and send it by email, post or hand it into our office. If you have difficulty with reading and writing then please telephone the office on 020 8938 4611 and we will take you through a specific form withdrawing your consent for you to sign.

We are required to keep a copy of any record of emails or telephone conversations with a client for a period of 7 years in line with our insurance obligations and therefore will be unable to destroy the information prior to 7 years expiring.
